Chief lake

Precipice lake is one of the most popular lakes in the High Sierra, after Ansel Adams made Frozen lake and cliffs. As I was hiking up Silver Pass, quickly glanced to the right to see Chief lake, a small lake with arresting reflections. Grabbed a quick photo and continued climbing.
Once nearing the summit, turned back and saw my friend come up with the lake in the background and Banner Peak and Mt. Ritter towering over him. Banner Peak and Mt.Ritter would be visible for at least 40 miles after we left them and a constant reminder of how far we have walked.
